Temperature Measurement and Calibration
Who should attend: Those who need a better understanding on how to make meaningful temperature measurements in an efficient manner to the accuracy required. Suitable for a broad range staff from those new to temperature, to knowledgeable engineers and scientists.
Level: All aspects of the course start at a basic level and progress to knowledge not found in books or other courses but gained from the presenter’s experiences.
Course content: The course starts with discussing what is meant by the term temperature, then ITS-90, types of sensors, establishing isothermal volumes, simulation and measurement, examples of common mistakes, interpreting results, uncertainty budgets and a look into the future.
Learning outcomes: An understanding of most aspects of contact thermometry, an introduction to radiation thermometry and the ability to produce basic uncertainty budgets. There will also be examples of equipment from leading suppliers to see and try.
Training delivery: The course will be presented by Dave Ayres who has over 30 years of metrology experience in both industrial and laboratory measurements, and is an external technical assessor for UKAS, INAB and NAB-MALTA. This is a course for only 8 people so we can provide tailored knowledge transfer to those attending, who will also be able to discuss topics with those attending at other times.
Available places: Only 8 places are available.
Included: Refreshments through the day, lunch, course notes and a copy of the slides, certificate of attendance and other relevant information on a USB memory stick.
Location: Dolgellau, Gwynedd.
