Humidity Measurement and Calibration
Who should attend: Those who need a better understanding on how to make meaningful humidity measurements in an efficient manner to the accuracy required and also wish to improve their understanding of humidity fundamentals, calibration and uncertainty. Suitable for a broad range staff from those new to humidity, to knowledgeable engineers and scientists.
Level: All aspects of the course start at a basic level and progress to knowledge not found in books or other courses but gained from the presenter’s experiences.
Course content: The course starts with discussing what is meant by the term humidity, its history, types of sensors, establishing volumes of known humidity, calibration, the importance of temperature, examples of common mistakes, interpreting results, uncertainty budgets and a look into the future.
Learning outcomes: An understanding of most aspects of humidity measurement, an introduction to moisture content, performing chamber surveys using thermometry and a dew point measurement, and the ability to produce basic uncertainty budgets. There will also be examples of equipment from leading suppliers to see and try.
Training delivery: The course will be presented by Dr Jeremy Wingate who has research and metrology experience in both industrial and laboratory measurements. This is a residential course for only 8 people so we can provide tailored knowledge transfer to those attending, who will also be able to discuss topics with those attending at other times.
